any relevant details or information that you want to share with your visitors.

Is this a diagnostic assessment?

No.
All assessments provided by Wise Owl Learning are educational and non-diagnostic.

We do not provide diagnoses or psychological assessments. Instead, we offer functional insight and practical recommendations that support learning and inclusion

How is this different from an Educational Psychology assessment?

Educational Psychology assessments typically focus on diagnosis and standardised testing.

Our work focuses on:

  • How a learner engages with learning

  • What helps and what gets in the way

  • Practical strategies for home and school

Many families choose a Functional Learning & Support Profile:

  • While waiting for further assessment

  • When diagnosis is not required

  • To gain clarity and support sooner

Do I need a diagnosis to access your services?

No.

A diagnosis is not required to access assessment, tutoring, workshops or advocacy support.

We work from a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based perspective, recognising that support should be available based on need, not labels.

Can this assessment be done online?

Yes.
Functional Learning & Support Profiles can be completed in person (Gorey) or online, depending on the needs of the child and family.

The most appropriate format is discussed at enquiry stage.

How long does the assessment process take?

The process includes:

  • Intake and background review

  • A 60–75 minute assessment session

  • Analysis and report writing

Reports are typically shared within an agreed timeframe following the assessment session.

Do you offer tutoring without an assessment?

Yes.
Wise Owl Learning offers 1-to-1 tutoring with or without a Functional Learning & Support Profile.

For some learners, tutoring alone is appropriate and effective, particularly where needs are already understood or support is focused on specific learning goals.

Where an assessment may be helpful, this will be discussed at enquiry stage, but it is not required in order to access tutoring.

Do you work with schools?

Yes.
Wise Owl Learning works with schools to provide:

  • Non-diagnostic functional learning profiles

  • Practical classroom strategies

  • Parent or staff workshops
